COVID-19

Wintringham response to the Coronavirus pandemic

This is without doubt, one of the most challenging periods that not only Wintringham has experienced in our 30-year history, but for the entire world.

We have a great responsibility to ensure the safety of our residents and clients through the services we provide at our residential aged care homes, our supported housing all across metropolitan and regional Victoria, along with the many services we provide to people aged 50-plus through our community care programs.

We are determined to continue doing whatever we can to protect our clients, residents, tenants and of course staff from this virus.

Across our organisation we are following all Federal Department of Health and Victorian Department of Health and Human Services guidelines, and monitoring for updates daily, if not at times hourly.

Please help us all stay safe by washing your hands regularly with soap and water, staying at home, keeping 1.5 metres away from others if you must go out and wear a mask (according to Vic Gov guidelines), and getting tested even if you have the slightest of symptoms.

If you have further questions about Covid-19, or know someone who doesn’t have a support network to assist them, call the Victorian Government’s Coronavirus Hotline at any time (seven days a week) on 1800 675 398. If you need a translator or interpreter service call 131 450. Also for the latest information visit: www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/coronavirus

For our clients - please remember, your Case Manager, Support Worker, Tenancy Worker or Residential Care Manager are there for you to talk to. If your needs have changed, our staff are here to help you get the services you need; don’t hesitate to ask. In addition, to prevent you feeling too isolated, our Recreation team have created a pen pal / phone call program, where Wintringham clients can regularly receive a letter or call from a volunteer. If this is of interest to you, just ask your Wintringham contact.

Thank you to all our clients, their family, friends and of course our dedicated staff, we will get through this together.

For all written correspondence with clients and visitors to our various services, please see below.
