Wintringham’s Chief of Staff, Jane Barnes, contributed to a panel discussion about how to better tackle entrenched homelessness with other sector leaders at the 2025 National Homelessness Conference in Queensland (17–19 June).
The panel focused on policy and funding reforms, particularly in the context of major changes underway in aged care, housing, and community support. Jane and fellow leaders emphasised the need for governments to break down silos and deliver coordinated, person-centred services for people with complex needs.
“This national conference was a fantastic opportunity to come together with colleagues from across the homelessness sector, to share insights and learn from each other’s experiences. Building connections is invaluable as we all work to achieve meaningful change across Australia,” Jane said.
Held annually, the National Homelessness Conference remains a key forum for sector-wide collaboration and dialogue on policy reform and service delivery.
