National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

What is the NDIS?

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides support to people with disability, their families and carers. The main component of the NDIS is individualised packages of support to eligible people with disability.

Objectives of the scheme are to:

  • support the independence and social and economic participation of people with disability.
  • provide reasonable and necessary supports, including early intervention supports, for participants.
  • enable people with disability to exercise choice and control in the pursuit of their goals and the planning and delivery of their supports.

Services we provide

Wintringham is an approved provider of the NDIS. Wintringham is registered to provide support coordination, assistance with daily activities and community access (core services – for day-to-day support, such as personal care, transport and community activities) to people aged over 50 years who have been assessed by the NDIS as eligible to receive services.

Wintringham’s residential aged care facilities are all registered under the NDIS Commission to provide services for younger people who require the supports of aged care.

The aim of providing these services is to maintain the independence of participants under the age of 65 living at our aged care sites and those who live in the community, aiming to improve quality of life and promote independence.

Areas we service

Wintringham has workers that provide NDIS services across metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria.
