Wintringham was pleased to welcome the Hon. Sam Rae MP, Minister for Aged Care and Seniors of Australia, and Maribyrnong MP Jo Briskey for a recent visit to Patrick Walsh housing site and McLean Lodge.
Joined by CEO Jane Barnes and our team, the visit provided an opportunity to share more about Wintringham’s model of care and the impact it has on the people we support.
During their time at McLean Lodge, Minister Rae and Ms Briskey met with residents and staff, gaining insight into the supportive, community-focused environment that defines Wintringham’s approach. The visit highlighted the importance of integrating housing and care services to ensure older Australians can age with dignity, security and a sense of belonging.
Wintringham also welcomed the opportunity to share perspectives on the challenges facing the aged care and housing sectors, and the need for continued investment in services for vulnerable older people.

“We were delighted to welcome Minister Rae and Jo Briskey and to share the work we do to support older people who are often overlooked,” said CEO Jane Barnes. “Seeing our model of care in action helps build understanding of how safe housing and compassionate support can transform lives.”
Wintringham thanks Minister Rae and Ms Briskey for their visit and their ongoing commitment to improving outcomes for older Australians.
