The Hon. Jo Briskey MP, Federal Member for Maribyrnong, toured Wintringham’s Patrick Walsh community housing and McLean Residential Aged Care home in Flemington during Homelessness Week. Anyone can experience homelessness - each statistic represents a person with a story, a struggle and a need for dignity, respect and safety.

“Homelessness Week is an important time for us to raise the profile of many issues that impact homelessness across Australia; the severe shortage of affordable social and public housing, the rising cost of living, and family violence, are all symptoms,” said Jane Barnes, Wintringham CEO.

“Thank you to Jo Briskey for taking some time out to visit our services that support older people who have been vulnerable to, or experienced homelessness, especially during this important week in the national calendar.”
