Good News in State Budget

Good News in State Budget

For more than two years, Wintringham has been running an innovative and highly successful project that has addressed homelessness amongst older people in and around the three regional areas of Geelong, Shepparton and Maryborough. This was one of 7 projects called 'Innovation Action Projects' funded because they promised to pioneer new and effective ways to address homelessness in Victoria.  In recent times, it has looked like these excellent projects would have to terminate as no new funding had been committed past 30th June 2015.

Thankfully, the Victorian State Budget provided new, ongoing funding for all 7 projects. Wintringham is massively relieved that our Regional Outreach work can now come out from under the funding shadow and continue finding meaningful solutions for people in dire need.
